An interesting stage and relatively easy to overcome. The road leads through a beautiful section of Galicja, it leads us between meadows and lush forests of oaks and chestnuts, leaving us with an infinite number of small villages or interesting places. We will start our day with an early breakfast, then we will set off. In the 12th-century church of Igrexa de San Salvador you will be able to stamp your Pilgrim Passport. You will pass through the 12th-century bridge erected over a small stream. It is called Ponte de Aspera and is entirely made of stone. We will also pass the small city of Barbadelo, and a few kilometers away, we will see a famous milestone with number 100 kilometres away to Santiago de Compostela. A further route leads over the reservoir, which was created in 1960 to supply the entire region with electricity. It is obtained from the waters of the longest river of Galicia – the Miño River. We will end the day in the city, where we will be able to admire, among others, the church of Igrexa de San Nicolas, which once served as a fortress. The medieval town of Portomarín disappeared in 1963 under the waters of the Belesar reservoir. The buildings of the highest historical value have been transferred to the new city.
